THE ROUTE

Epic Himalayan Duathlon Venue

Bhaichung Stadium in Namchi is the venue for Epic Himalayan Duathlon

The event will be flagged off at 7 am on the 9th of April, 2022.

The event location is Bhaichung Stadium, Namchi

First Leg - Running 5 kms

The participants will start the first leg of the event to cover the distance of 5km by running (to and fro). The event will have a master start from Bhaichung Stadium and the runners head towards the Assangthang helipad as shown on the map. U-turn will be at 2.5 km from the start point. Aid station and hydration point shall be available at the u-turn

Second Leg - Cycling 20 kms

The participants shall return back to the stadium where the bikes shall be racked. The participants shall put on their helmets, cycling shoes and push the bike to the exit of the stadium and mount and ride the bikes only from the specified point (marked by the organisers). They shall not be allowed to mount their bikes before reaching the bike mount point

The participants then shall ride and head towards bhanjyang road to cover the distance of 20km (to and fro). The u –turn will be at 10 km from the start point. The Aid station and the hydration point shall be available at the u- turn

Third Leg - Running 2.5 kms

The riders on reaching the Bhaichung stadium shall dismount from their bikes at a specified point (marked by the organisers) and will have to push their bikes into the transition area (T2). Here they shall rack their bikes, remove their helmets and proceed to start the last leg of the event i.e. the 2.5 km run.

The participants shall run the last leg of 2.5 km (1.25 km up and 1.25 km down) the route on Assangthang road and finish at the finishing point at the Bhaichung stadium. The Aid station and the hydration point shall be available at the u- turn of 1.25km.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the reporting time for the event?

All participants are requested to report at the stadium by 6:30 AM on 9th April 2022.

By 6:45 AM allotment of spaces to park cycles/gear would be given.

The race will start at 7:00 AM

Will there be a pre race briefing?

A pre-race briefing will be held on the 8th April, 2022 at Bhaichung Stadium at 3:00 pm. It is compulsory for all the participants to attend the briefing. All the rules and regulations of the race shall be briefed. The route plan shall be properly shared with the participants during the briefing.

How will I get certificates?

In order to become more sustainable and keep up with the digitization of the world, from this event onwards, all the participants(finishers) will be given digital certificates after the event. The winners will be given printed certificates.

When will the bibs be distributed?

Bibs will be distributed on the 8th of April, 2022 from 11:00 am to 4 pm. NO BIBS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED/ ISSUED ON THE DAY OF THE RACE.
